Beautiful building. A haven to return to after trips to the gruelling S21museum and the killing fields. the young staff are really lovely and are so eager to please. The swimming pool is a big bonus in this busy dusty city. About 20 minutes walk to the riverside promenade and close to Royal palace and silver pagoda. Breakfast healthy and plentiful in adjoining trendy cafe.
A hideaway haven with modern clean rooms, sleek pool area and the friendliest staff
spacious room, clean, friendly staff
electricity insufficient, air conditioner is not cool enough
The building being the former residence of the US ambassador Impressive and high class standard
A little bit too expensive for the value for money balance
I've stayed in a lot of nice hotels but this was by far the best! The rooms are clean and modern looking, with a selection of free soft drinks. The breakfast in Le Cafe is lovely and the pool is a perfect place to relax away from the craziness of Phnom Penh. The best thing about this hotel is the staff who were incredible, my friend and I were supposed to be crossing the border into Vietnam but couldn't get our visas processed in time so were lost as to what to do. We mentioned it to the staff in passing and 30 minutes later we got a call to our room because the staff had done some research and told us what options we had. Was so nice of them! In the end we were so happy there that we booked another night. I would go back to Phnom Penh just to stay here!
Nice, especially staff and pool. Very quiet location
Perfect location to visit main tourist attractions in walking distance. Newly opened hotel (Jan 2012) in a former ambassador residence. 25m pool open until 10pm was great to relax after having visited the city. Very friendly and customer oriented staff. Hotel is run by French - hence great French croissant and pain chocolate for breakfast combined with perfecty made Italian coffee. We enjoyed this start of the day prior to dive into Khmer cuisine afterwards. Very stylish atmosphere. We can recommend this hotel!
- staff is as friendly as you can get; - the rooms are spacious and very comfortable (and clean of course); - spa and outside pool were great I can recommend this hotel to everyone, really enjoied our time there! In Europe such service would cost at least 300 euro for a night.
The staff were excellent
High ceilings and marbles floors meant that noise echoed and high heel shoes could be heard clicking along the floor.
Great value for money, size of rooms, great staff
Liked it all. Only very minor issue we had was staff misunderstanding a request at breakfast due to not understaning our request. It was no major issue though
We stayed at the White Mansions hotel for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon. This is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. We were given a huge room next to the spa, the bed was really comfortable, the minibar was free for all soft drinks and was replenshed daily. They provided a fresh fruit platter in our room on arrival and also delivered biscuits to our room every night. The pool area is really nice and the breakfast is great (you choose from a menu and they prepare it fresh for you with coffee and juice). 10 minute walk from the Royal Palace and 15 minutes to the river. Could'nt recommend this hotel highly enough.
Nice and new hotel with nice rooms really friendly staff, taking extremely good care of us. Convenient location in the center of the city. Worth its stars at an interesting price.
If the staff forget to tell you, do not push the button near the one for the bathroom lights, it might turn of the hot water :)
This hotel is really an oasis in the middle of the mania that is Phnom Penh! As soon as you walk past the big walls of this ex- US embassy, you feel like you are escaping the madness of the street outside. I think that's what we liked best.
The staff could possibly improve their English, plus nobody used the pool area while we were there so maybe something can be done to take more advantage of this facility- perhaps happy hour in the pool area between 4pm & 8pm every evening?
The staff were extremely friendly and polite.
Check-in and check-out weren't as quick and efficient as they could have been.
Delightful old French colonial atmosphere, wonderful spacious high stud rooms, superbly managed and staffed. The staff seem to anticipate your every need. Excellent cafe on the premises with fabulous croissants!
Poor lighting in room, erratic water pressure and temperature. Neighborhood seems a little bit dodgy at night, but then all of Phnom Penh feels dodgy - day and night.
